Giving design as a gift, on Valentine’s Day and not only, is a choice from the heart, a gift designed to stay for a long time.
Valentine’s Day is an excuse to make a gesture of affection, describe a feeling and stop to look for a gift designed for a loved one. Yes, it is a romantic day, dedicated to every form of love to be celebrated by photographing a moment of happiness. Giving a design object, designed and produced with wisdom and dedication, means offering something that lasts forever, that surpasses the trend of the moment and can find space, for a long time, in the home. In some cases, these are functional objects that make everyday life more special, in others they are close to works of art thanks to their creative personality. And from the smallest to the largest, they are always the expression of a feeling.
Scented candles Smoky Grey Antwerp by Vincent Van Duysen for Serax
For its new collection of scented candles, Serax asked a group of designers to imagine fragrances that would represent them: Marie Michielssen, Vincent Van Duysen, and Bela Silva. For example, Vincent Van Duysen was inspired by the atmospheres of his city, Antwerp. Produced in Grass, the French perfume capital, the candles have a cork base that houses the mouth-blown glass container containing the wax mixed with essential oils of cardamom, chamomile, and wood. The object enchants and the scent instills peace and serenity.
Lady Anne by Lara Caffi for KnIndustrie
The coffee maker has been interpreted in very different ways by designers over the years and in this project, Lara Caffi returns to its origins with a classic and elegant line that at the same time appears contemporary and full of character. It is a gift to make the daily act of preparing coffee special.
VL45 Radiohus portable lamp by Vilhelm Lauritzen for Louis Poulsen
This lamp is the rechargeable version of an undisputed icon: the suspended Radiohus designed by Vilhelm Lauritzen in 1940. At the time, it was also chosen by Charles and Ray Eames, since archive photos immortalize it in their home and studio. In this new version, it is perfect for lighting the table, or a moment of relaxation outdoors.
Snoopy Navy Blue by Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni for Flos
Ironic and elegant at the same time, the Snoopy table lamp is one of the most famous and successful creations of the Castiglioni brothers. Its marble base gives it authority and visual strength while the reflector makes it familiar, recalling the cartoon dog. The blue version is one of the most current.
Oriente Italiano Castagna by Ginori 1735
The classic design of this dinner service is contemporary by the chestnut-inspired color, dark and full of character. The whole makes the table sophisticated and interesting and is an original choice, accompanied by the prestige of handmade porcelain elements.
Clessidre Sommerse by Fulvio Bianconi for Venini
In the era of digitalized time, hourglasses are an invitation to stop and watch the grains of sand flow, in a meditative rather than functional gesture. This series is a work of art in glass in all color variations, hypnotic and beautiful.
Metrica Wine by CTRLZACK studio for Mogg
Not the usual bottle holder but a structure with character in which metal is the protagonist. The configuration conceived by the designers offers shelves of various sizes for different bottles, to be placed flat or vertically depending on the needs.
Squash Mirror by Faye Toogood for Poltrona Frau
The organic shapes of the 1970s are the inspiration for the mirror from the Squash collection by Faye Toogood for Poltrona Frau. Contemporary creativity merges with manufacturing excellence and the result is a sculptural and functional object.
