The Potuguese brand focuses on design and production quality and on the courage to dare with shapes, colors and materials
Royal Stranger is an unprecedented mix of formal experimentation, bold color palettes and a penchant for art deco. This Portuguese company is young from all points of view: not only for the originality of the style but also because it was founded in 2017 and in that year it was presented in Paris on the occasion of Maison et Objet. With the French capital, the brand has in common refinement, an eclectic sense of luxury and of course the déco taste. The mind of this project is the Portuguese architect Sofia Pinho Santos, co-founder together with Rui Moreira Santos with whom she also shares an interior design studio. Sofia is also the head designer of Royal Stranger and is therefore the one who dictates the creative line of the collections, giving space to the freedom of imagination and expression by indulging in regular excursions outside the box. The result is a playful catalogue, designed and produced in Portugal, which dialogues with collecting and offers a series of pieces halfway between design and art. Furnishings and lights have a strong personality and stand out in the interior in which they are inserted. They amaze, but they also tell the professionalism and vision of a concrete project.
Glazy chair and stool
A little glamorous a little lazy, this collection that includes chair and stool (on the cover) is playful and cultured at the same time. The main theme is the roundness that can be read both in the circular and soft seat and in the feet in which corners and edges are completely absent. But there is also a structural gimmick that makes the chair and stool particularly interesting: in both, in fact, the rear feet extend upwards to go beyond the seat and act as a backrest. Low in the case of the stool, high in the case of the chair. The name, Glazy, is an indication of style and refers to the back part of the backrest, glazed in the same color as the seat.
Embrace sofa and armchair
In the Embrace collection, Royal Stranger successfully manages to identify the perfect balance between generous shapes and visual lightness, comfort and style. Sofa and armchair are generated by the juxtaposition of vertical elements that support and horizontal elements that make up the seat and backrest.
Extremely essential, they give life to a combination of great effect which in the rounded shapes evokes the déco style that often inspires the company, while retaining a strong contemporary connotation. Sofa and armchair are plentiful and comfortable but also ethereal, they do not loom over the furnishings but, on the contrary, fit as a discreet but significant presence in a sophisticated living room.
Queen Heart side table and stool
If Royal Stranger were a fairy tale it would be Alice in Wonderland. In her world everything is possible and ironic and unique shapes, colors and characters meet. Like the Queen of Hearts that inspires this fun, iconic and sculptural coffee table. This heart carved in solid wood has a faceted profile that makes it look like a precious gem. An original solution for a coffee table or stool.
Poppins chandelier
180cm wide and 160cm deep, this chandelier offers an exceptional glance thanks to its size. Evocative and with a retro style, it is characterized by a succession of opaline spheres in blown glass and by a structure that can be lacquered with a glossy finish in all RAL colours. Like a constellation, Poppins lets itself be looked at from the bottom up to enchant and amaze, and deserves a large space in which to be installed and admired in all its unprecedented beauty.
