Neutral, bold or patterned to create different atmospheres and suggestions
Gardens, balconies and courtyards are preparing to welcome a new outdoor season that begins in spring and then explodes with the arrival of summer. It is in these months that the outdoor spaces, now elevated to the rank of outdoor living rooms, can be fully experienced and shared with guests. Here the atmosphere is more relaxed and informal, the space allows you to regain contact with nature, to enjoy the sun, fresh air, the sunset, and the rhythms of the earth. At the same time, the increasingly refined furnishings, the result of a design that considers both technical aspects and style, allow for maximum comfort and practicality.
In this context, color becomes a bearer of beauty but also an architectural element that marks and defines the alternation of materials and decorative and structural patterns, acting as a common thread between all the elements of the collections which this year, even more than before, focus on unexpected color combinations.
A trip to Marbella by Paola Navone for Baxter
Marbella is the setting for an ideal journey imagined by Paola Navone for Baxter: in fact, the collections she designed are in the wildest and least visited by tourists, evoking suspended and evocative landscapes. And so, Arizona is the series of sofas and tables characterized by colors ranging from concrete gray to copper green and in the former it is expressed in a metal structure around which the coated rubber straps are wrapped, the beauty of which remains visible to finish the Together.
The collection of Manila seats is very evocative, made of flexible rush and characteristic of the garden furniture of the past: it takes on a new taste thanks to the colors proposed, highly refined warm and cold shades. And the collection of Rimini chairs is a real “amarcord”, with a worn look and the comfort guaranteed by the leather of the seat and back.
Utrecht XL outdoor by Gerrit Thomas Rietveld for Cassina
In the original version, for interiors, the Utrecht armchair is an authentic icon of 20th century design: designed in 1935 for the Metz & Co department store in Amsterdam, it has an innovative formal scope that does not end even a century after its birth. Today Cassina offers it in an equally special outdoor version in which the structure, characterized by the graphic rhythm of the elements, is further enhanced by bright colours. The outdoor version is, in fact, available in various colors and textures, but perhaps finds its most captivating expression in the Favignana covering with large flowers in a mélange of warm and cold colours.
Eidos by Gabriele and Oscar Buratti for Gervasoni
On one side resin and on the other teak: with this unprecedented combination the Buratti brothers have imagined an outdoor dining area characterized by the color of the first and the warmth of the second. The resin, with a cloudy effect, covers the dining table, available in three bright colours. Natural teak is the choice for the seats to match the table characterized by an enveloping seat and backrest, armrests and legs with stylized shapes. Moreover, the name Eidos translates from Greek with the term “form”, which in this project is expressed in an experimental and successful game of chromatic and material combinations.
South by Konstantin Grcic for Magis
South is an outdoor furniture system designed by Konstantin Grcic for Magis: the soul is a steel tube and rod structure that takes on vaguely retro shapes. It becomes openly innovative and takes on a contemporary style thanks to the polyolefin mat available in two colours, burgundy and blue, to cover the seats and make them more comfortable. The collection includes bench with backrest, chairs, dining table, coffee tables, rug and baskets.
Cabla by Lucidi-Pevere for Emu
Among the novelties of Emu, a historic outdoor design brand, there is also the Cabla collection by the Lucidi-Pevere studio. It is a modular and assembleable upholstered system designed to obtain numerous configurations by combining the three fundamental elements: linear seat, chaise longue, and armrest.
The whole changes face depending on the chromatic choice which offers various alternatives, all inspired by the colors of the earth: military green, matt white, black, maple red and prickly brown. The seats are plentiful and comfortable, designed for a sophisticated but welcoming outdoor lounge.
